I'm Dr. Christopher Wilson, Psy.D., a licensed psychologist, speaker, and trainer based in Portland, Oregon. In my practice, I provide evaluations for attorneys and state agencies, work with individuals and couples, and design and conduct trainings and workshops nationwide. My doctoral degree is from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon and I've been licensed since 2005.
My evaluation practice includes domestic violence evaluations/risk assessments, anger management evaluations, psychological evaluations, and parental capacity evaluations. My training has included working with Dr. G. Andrew Benjamin, Ph.D., J.D., in Seattle, Washington, and Dr. Richard Kolbell, Ph.D., A.B.P.P., in Portland, Oregon.
As a clinician and expert in the field of intimate partner violence, I work with individuals and couples who struggle with intimacy, interpersonal connection, anger, violence, control, depression, anxiety, attention, mindfulness, and identity. My style is a combination of compassion, connection and confrontation.
As a speaker and trainer, I provide a wide variety of talks and trainings, focusing on customizing content for the client and providing both entertaining and effective experiences for participants. My audiences have included the US Department of Justice's Office for Victims of Crime, St. Charles Hospital (in Bend, Oregon), North Carolina State University, the National Crime Victim Law Institute, the Oregon Attorney General's Task Force on Sexual Assault, Portland Women's Crisis Line, and the End Violence Against Women International annual conference.
